YouTube is updated incorporating a video editor

The YouTube app for Android just received an update that gives a pretty remarkable face wash and some performance tweaks and a new very cool feature: a video editor. With this new feature we can add free music library to our personal YouTube videos, and we can also edit their duration and even add a few visual filters.

The changes more notice as a user do not stay there, as the latest YouTube has gotten a redesign of the main application. Now this is separated into three separate tabs: A principal showing suggestions based on user interests, a tab that will keep us abreast of our subscriptions and last tab that will give us access to our own management.

As we read in the official YouTube blog, the last remarkable novelty of this update of YouTube is the ability to watch recorded video full screen vertically. This means you will not need to juggle to enjoy a video of this kind, and when we execute clicking the full-screen option will not be between two black bars. This feature also will be in iOS.

Returning to the subject of the video editor, it is quite surprising as addition. The possibilities to interact more immediately still recording and editing video from anywhere and then upload them to YouTube significantly increases the social skills of this popular video streaming service.

If you have not received the update YouTube still, do not worry, should be there soon or in the coming days. The truth is that with this new feature the chances of winning immediacy YouTube Mobile is, we insist, very interesting and focused on the social video. Perhaps it was not necessary, but it is something that gives a breath of fresh air to YouTube for Android.

Facebook threat to Youtube in the battle for online video

It might seem surprising that Facebook ended up becoming a threat to YouTube when many of the videos you see on the website of Google come to us precisely from the social network, but in recent months Facebook has begun an offensive to gain a foothold as a platform for video posting, where until now YouTube reigned without competition. So far, because Facebook threats YouTube seriously.

In just over a year the amount of videos posted directly on Facebook has exploded. According to Fortune magazine, in February 2014, only 25% of the videos that were posted on the social network climbed there directly, the rest came from other linked sites, especially YouTube. Today, the figure is 70%.

Gradually, the social network has been improving its interface to upload and share videos, but that's not the only advantage, also has a veritable arsenal of big data to know in detail the tastes and interests of its users and their behavior. For example, Facebook recently announced a change in its algorithm to show more related videos that you expanded to view in full screen to watch in HD or activate sound, but then you gave it or not a 'Like' or comments.

YouTube is too dependent on social networks such as Facebook or Twitter to generate traffic. With both platforms working hard to improve their systems for video, audio-visual portal of Google could receive a torpedo at the waterline, and Facebook is about to arrive, if not already here.

Internet changes everything at the speed of light, and a butterfly flapping its wings in Facebook can cause a storm in YouTube, and more if instead of being a butterfly it is actually a shark. Google has tried to manage this with Google+, but the reality is different and what seemed impossible a few months ago is now a reality: Facebook not only looks ready to do battle with YouTube but it has certain advantages. Definitely it is going to be a fun fight.

YouTube for Android Wear can be a reality

Developers are free to create whatever they want. That's why we see in Android a huge amount of applications and some, in the opinion of many, a bit useless. Android Wear, Google's operating system for wearable devices also has some apps of dubious utility.

In this application, whose name is Video for Android Wear&YouTube, you can dictate what you want to search, play, move through the video and access more videos. But what is most surprising is certainly Chromecast support. Sliding sideways a couple of times we are able to send content to our Chromecast and view it from there. In short, play YouTube videos on your Android smartwatch.

A somewhat 'crazy' idea by the developer that took place as a video on such a small screen as watches has, even if it has Android Wear; it seems meaningless. On the other hand, we see some use for compatibility with Chromecast because if you are with friends and you want to show something from the watch you can.

We talk about a free application that can be installed from now to test it on your Android Wear. If you really want to play video on your watch, it is important that you have linked to the Bluetooth speakers or headphones. Otherwise you will not be able to hear it.

YouTube Gaming, Google's new weapon to face Twitch

Video games are one of the segments within the fastest growing on the Internet, thanks to which users are coming up to related content either through capture and streaming content. Here Twitch is the master of this kind of services, so there were many that wanted to take part of the platform, but finally was Amazon that managed to close the purchase.

A service of this kind would not be alone for long (that was clear), and after several rumors and speculations Google makes official its video platform designed for content of video games, YouTube Gaming is official and wants to face Twitch by domain users and creating content.

YouTube Gaming will be an independent site based on Google service, because here they will find tools for users to upload and broadcast live all types of content based on video games. A movement more than obvious by Google, as many of their YouTubers have chosen to migrate to Twitch by the ease and scope of the platform.

YouTube Gaming will have mobile applications, user channels, custom links to share items and all will be classified according to the game, starting with a catalog of over 25,000 titles.

The interesting thing here is to know the strategy of Google to attract gamers and leave Twitch, since the goal of this service is to have users viewing content and content to show advertising.

YouTube Gaming will be available in the coming days by the time the United States and the UK, but it is expected later this year to be launched in more countries.

This time as many others, we can read the latest news about it through AndroidPolice, among them are some interesting, some small fixes and other minor details.

As you know, YouTube makes great use of Chromecast, and its role has been slightly increased, then they added a Permanent Cast Icon button in the upper right, in order to have on hand at all times be able to play content to TV in question. The decision is also pure logic and drive the use of your device.

Material Design simplicity is essential, and have decided to spend the broom sweeping the selector of privacy. Now we visualize a sharper appearance, along with more successful and refurbished icons, meaning they offer the option to choose.

With the arrival of new subscription plans, YouTube is offering new features to the public as this, adding the ability for users to download audio from videos so desired, allow offline playback of these when we have no data connection certain times, or to not consume megas are much needed addition for many of us. In the code it has clearly found a line where you can read "Audio Only", this probably means this feature is upcoming.
