Kodi (former XBMC) available in Google Play

The news today is that Kodi for Android, which until now could only be proved by invitation or by downloading the APK file, is available for any user to install it through Google Play, and of course, completely free of charge (open source platform). Certainly, this only translates into good news for those who were already used to XBMC, and also for those who usually consume enough multimedia content to your smartphone and tablet. With Kodi, the possibilities multiply.

Kodi goes beyond of being a simple video player, as if they are VLC Player or MX, and is intended as a complete multimedia center with which to enjoy alone or accompanied. With this application, you can manage all your multimedia files through libraries, so that access to content is much more agile and intuitive thanks to the organization that provides, and its comfortable user interface (similar to XBMC), perfectly adapted to mobile devices, particularly tablets and phones with large screens.

Kodi for Android is able to relate and automatically download content information you have stored. For example, in films, appearing as we will see cover art, synopsis, casts, and other useful data, and this will also help us when filter searches according to different parameters. Also noteworthy is the many additions or add-ons that we can use, even for watching television or listening to online radio.

Undoubtedly, Kodi is an ideal and practically indispensable app for those who have many films, series and images and photos stored, and want to enjoy them in the best way possible. At the moment, still in beta, although its development is quite advanced and works well. It supports Android 4.2 Jelly Bean and above, and as mentioned, you can already download it in Google Play.

Google Play allows pre-registration of applications to notify its launch

Our favorite applications store on mobile platforms such as Google Play has added a new feature, and can say that nothing expected, because from now we begin to see different applications and other content that support prior registration, which will allow users to be notified when they are published or rather when it is released in our region.

That is, as if it were a reservation, we can now run a search without any requirement at all, because only now it has the function to inform the public when a game or application in this case is published.

The first we have met with this new tool has been game Terminator Genisys: Revolution. If we agree on its respective page in Google Play a new button appears in the same location as the "Install" and it is the "Pre-register"button where a pop-up notifying you will be advised at the time of publication appears.

Of course we can at any time cancel the registration, so we will not be notified at the time of publication if we wish that way, because it is not something irreparable and has its solution, something positive of course.

With this development, the developers prefer to do so, from now they can publish content days or weeks before the release and anyone who want can register if they are interested in this.

Hopefully sooner they will apply this option and we can be aware of the publication of applications that interest us, and of course other content such as movies, books, music and other catalog that has Google Play today.

Kingdom Rush, the first installment of the saga becomes free on Android

The guys of Ironhide Game Studio have created one of the most appreciated games - Kingdom Rush - in the strategy genre for mobile devices, specifically the sagas subgenre called tower defense, which is basically survive to waves of enemies, where we have to use all kinds of defense towers to repel them, that will help us overcome the level that put us ahead.

Kingdom Rush is now in its third installment, where each new one improves all kinds of sections of the game, but never without departing from its own style of fantasy. The good news are that the first of the series becomes free on Android, it adopted the free-to-play model so, reach the hands of more users and get to know the franchise, which for sure will appeal to those who have not had the pleasure to enjoy it.

Logically they maintain the integrated shopping, good hand that can say they are totally unnecessary, since the basic experience is more than enough and does not reach such a high difficulty to use it. Without further ado, you can find it at the following link to Google Play, where you can install it free of charge.

The Firm, how to become a stockbroker and get rich

By now we all know the huge amount of games that exist in the catalog of Google Play, but this one we bring now is somewhat different, because despite being an arcade at its best, proposes the challenge of being extremely rich, in the way as X-Lives tried with Tiburón o Pescadilla (Shark or Whiting), many years ago.

The Firm, the game where your character is a trader who works for a large corporation, consist in trying to classify all the endless stock of investment documents. The Firm is quite easy to understand, because we only swipe left or right the various documents that appear to us in the bottom of the screen, where we classify ourselves if companies listed are worthy of the investment of our big corporation or it is not, reject and continue with others.

As time passes, if we are efficient enough and know where to invest and where not, we will begin to earn a significant amount of money, which ultimately lead to the ambition to win more is better.

But not everything is positive, because if we do not meet the target and start to decline, we will see our bank account begins to get empty itself to zero, so we have to start over as an anyone scholar.

Google Play lowered to 70% some of its most successful games, for a limited time

Google Play provide us with a number of interesting games, where these have been discounted up to 70% making a compilation own according to their success, active players or other aspects motivating them to appear.. This is a way to get all kinds of more public content, ease of acquisition and also to provide interesting offers whenever they want is by digital sales.

The total number of games is 22, where several companies like Electronic Arts, HandyGames or Chillingo have lowered the price of their games, finding in some of these paltry 0.15 Euro final cost. In these, we also found good variety of content, both a more casual, others pure horror, sports and more.

Titles in this case are quite appreciated and rest assured we will offer interesting and fun hours of gameplay, such as Plants vs. Zombies, The Sims 3, NBA JAM, Monopoly Millionaire, Guns'n'Glory WW2 Hero Ninja Cats, Devils & Demons or Dead Space.

Right now is when we have to say it: Hurry up! As these offers are valid for a limited time, so that at any moment can disappear, and given the price we have some successful titles like Plants vs Zombies to 0.50 euros, it is definitely a recommended purchase and fun assured by a good time.

Remember that most of these still offer more quality in a tablet, so if you have both devices can get even more enjoyment and fun, because whichever often do not find an experience as it should given the screen size of smartphones.

Firefox for Android now exceeds 100 million downloads

Mozilla Firefox, the free and open source web browser, has passed the 100 million downloads in the Google Play Store.

With a rating of more than 4 stars in the Play Store and more than 100 million downloads since March 2011, when it was released, it becomes a new mark achieved by Firefox for Android, the private mobile version of the powerful, customizable, social, popular and easy to configure web browser Mozilla.

The milestones are listed on the official Mozilla blog where prey to highlight some other facts and events in the history of its development: Its launch in 2011 with immediate options to synchronize content between different devices and operating systems, presenting an optimized version for Android Tablets, Do Not Track options to ensure private browsing, support for visual themes for personalization and QuickShare web content via social networks.

A guest navigation mode, pre-installation on mobile devices and the Kobo GIGABYTE brand power transmitting video to other screens within home via Roku and Chromecast, DuckDuckGo available in its default search engine -another great thing for those who prefer a higher level of privacy-, sections to highlight frequently visited web sites and a reading mode that turns any web page into a text for easy viewing, which complete the list of the most striking features that have been successfully implemented for the Mozilla team in this bright browser.

Firefox was born as an experimental branch of the Mozilla project by Dave Hyatt, Joe Hewitt and Blake Ross. In their view, the commercial requirements of Netscape's sponsorship and the large number of features of Mozilla Application Suite compromised the utility of this one. To combat what they called inflated Mozilla Application Suite, they created a separate browser with the intention of replacing it. On April 3, 2003, the Mozilla Organization announced they would focus their efforts on Firefox and Thunderbird. After that and the years, here’s where we are.

Final Fantasy Record Keeper, all the series together

The best moments of the series come together in Final Fantasy Record Keeper. After the long wait, we have officially available in both the App Store and Google Play the expected remix with the greatest moments of the Final Fantasy series, which comes on the heels of DeNa Corp. in collaboration with Square Enix under the title  Final Fantasy Record Keeper and arrives after being released in Japan reaping a huge success.

We know that Square Enix pampers its saga like gold cloth, but has not been entirely successful in regard to adaptation for mobile devices titles we both enjoyed in our consoles, but with Final Fantasy Record Keeper the situation has taken a dramatic turn and we are now faced with such an interesting and addictive game that definitely everybody will enjoy from the beginning.

The first thing to know about Final Fantasy Record Keeper is that we live our adventures from the point of view of Tyro, a young guard charged with protecting the memories of different Final Fantasy in a sort of alternative world.

In the Kingdom of Memories all those great moments are stored, but now its safety has been compromised and Tyro have to get into the pictures to relive the battles and keep out the threat.

Gameplay is standard in the classic Square Enix, turn-based combat. Yes, Final Fantasy Record Keeper adapts the system to our mobile devices, and now the use of magic is limited during combat.

The magic points we have available is not regenerate, so we must think the strategy we want to follow along battles to not stay without magic in the very beginning, which means focusing the combat more so in the strategy.

One of the strengths is certainly that will add character to our belonging to the saga like Cloud, we'll almost from the beginning and when we have enough participants can choose from our group and equip weapons and other objects that we will receive as we win battles through the world.

On the other hand, we go jumping from epic to epic moment in time without apparent order, so we can not wait to enjoy them in chronological order starting from the first games. For example, start reliving the first battles of Final Fantasy VII.

Final Fantasy Record Keeper is available for free through the App Store and Google Play, and although a free-to-play which includes many micropayments, not necessary to recourse to them to enjoy the game, at least in the first bars thereof.

It is certainly a game that deserves a place in our devices, first because it is a breath of fresh air and enjoyable and second because Final Fantasy Greatest Hits is at least a luxury, and more being for free.

Writeily Pro, a simple but effective Notes app

Write and point, there are times when we do not need a thousand features and editing options, we simply write down or write long texts without distractions. That's why apps like iA Writer or JotterPad are so successful.

Obviously there are not enough applications to be writing but at the same time also being nice and friendly aesthetically. This time we are talking about Writeily Pro, an application that comes from Writeily, the original version.

Writeily Pro is essentially an application of notes, a simple text editor, direct and although its name includes the word Pro it is totally free and no purchase in app. In it we can create different folders in which to save notes, so you have everything more organized and divide by subject.

Writeily Pro is free text editor that supports Markdown. In addition, you can import and edit other text files you have stored on your smartphone and save what you are doing in Memory. Something that many will give value: in Writeily Pro you can write in plain text, but also supports Markdown, so you can quickly format your text.

Otherwise, Writeily Pro has an interface that adopts Material Design elements such as spot colors, side navigation menu or button floating action to create new notes and folders. Among the application settings have options to change the font, font size, change the subject between light and dark and even block access to the app using code.

Writeily Pro is totally free from Google Play, contains no advertising or in-app purchases, but if you want to support the developer there is a donation version. A good alternative to other of its kind, but what we miss most is some sort of sync with the cloud.

Strikers 1945 III, Second World War shooter

The genre of Shooter never gets old, and less those inspired by the Second World War. Strikers 1945 III offers a dynamic air combat game where you remember your time enjoying the arcade games.

Mobile devices have emerged as an alternative to return to bring old genres that no longer have much place in the current consoles and PCs. One of these genres are shoot them up, or better known as Shooter, taking us soar both in fantastic military environments and having to shoot anything that moves.

Strikers 1945 III is something more earthy with a degree in military court near iron machines we've seen in the Second World War. Thus Strikers 1945 III offers an adrenaline adventure that accepts single player mode and even multiplayer, where we will have up to eight levels governed by an enemy to the last step.

For this, and according to one of the four difficulty levels available, we will receive materials as gold and gems as we go passing the phases that we will use to enhance the autonomy of our ship in areas such as the main special attack, and defense. Likewise also have the ability to unlock new planes with all these resources we get, each more powerful.

We are also able to choose a fellow sufferer to join us in campaign mode for an user, a plane that will be controlled by the CPU, and virtually mimics your movements. During the fighting we can make use of pumps or coat to try to free ourselves from the big bosses or out of a particular hurry. Strikers 1945 III is a title of pure action and focused more on the earthly story that will appeal to lovers of this genre and for those seeking adrenaline within a short period of time.

Dark Echo, an amazing horror game

Dark Echo is a horror game that will trap you in a world of darkness. You have to to escape, but the darkness covers everything, so you can only rely on sounds to move forward.

You must use visual echo waves to get an idea of your environments, as the different sounds you create will bounce off obstacles and thus reveal the shape of the objects around you. However, the sounds will also attract a dangerous evil that will try to devour the sound waves along with your soul.

The idea of the game is rather simple. With the different kind of sounds that you can create, you will be able to move around using the echo waves as a radar, identifying the obstacles that surrounds you. There are different kinds of sounds, and each one has some advantages and some deathly disadvantages.

In the first levels, you are going to learn how to move around and how to create the different sounds and the effect they get on your visual radar. For example, a strong step will create a huge waves that will reveal a lot of space around you, while very soft steps generate almost neither sound nor waves.

When you advance some levels, the devil will try to get you. Then you will have to deal with the fact that loud noises attract that evil creature, and you will have to decide about the best way to advance. In some cases could be better to move quietly, but then you will have no idea about your surroundings and you might end... well, death.

To make everything a little more difficult, at some point you will find water in your path. That water will slow you down and will create some loud sounds, making difficult to walk unnoticed.

So, along the 80 levels that the game offers, you will be faced with different tricks and obstacles, following an increasing difficulty curve perfectly balanced. You will need to be alert, sometimes rushing forward to barely escape the evil coming for you or another times you will try to walk without making the slightest noise, completely blind to the world around you.

Dark Echo is an amazing game, with a simple design and a lot of great imagination. It's available for $1.99 for Android and iOS respectively. To get the best experience, be sure to use a good headphones and let the darkness and the sound completely surround you.

Will you be able to escape alive?

Zombie Highway 2 available on Android

Zombies are leftover characters today, and Zombie Highway 2 is one of the last titles we've seen in the games scene.

Zombie Highway 2 is a sequel of an acclaimed game developed for smartphones and tablets with Android and iOS where our greatest and almost only goal was to kill all these undead while we survived the apocalypse through improved car loaded with weapons. What gives this Android game does not seem to be an experience that differs too much with the prequel that has already had its reputation, and we still have as objective to eliminate all the zombies that cross our path.

Even if you succeed to see some changes that make the gameplay a new and exciting element, as is the addition of Nitro will allow us to travel to faster speed to crush these threats at full speed. Also we see new content has been added to tap, as well as what we already knew of the series, we see a total of 6 new remodeled cars, 17 new weapons redesigned that can level up, including 4 super weapons of mass destruction.

We will also see that the challenge increases with not just 4 zombies completely new from the total of 10 redesigned, plus more than 50 challenges that we meet as additional objectives. As a final detail, we will meet daily challenges that we can complete to receive additional rewards, not counting a few levels are randomly generated for each as a unique experience.

As for the graphic quality of this new release on Android, it can be seen that it is a more than satisfactory not only for the implemented models, but the lighting in the game. All this combined will give us more than satisfactory experience to hunt zombies at high speed, although it would need a minimally midrange processor to run it smoothly.

Stormfall: Rise of Balur, a dark world of fantasy and legends

For many, Stormfall is already well known for quite some time, since it is available on Facebook. After years of waiting, Stormfall: Rise of Balur has finally arrived in a version for Android aimed at mobile devices such as smartphones and tablets.

Stormfall: Rise of Balur is a Massively Multiplayer Online game in which you play a warrior who has been chosen to lead the battle against darkness and restore peace to the land of Darkshine. The game, which is pure strategy, will keep you playing a handful of hours.

During the game, you must take control of your people, in which it begins by constructing buildings and investigate new soldiers and arts with which you will beat in combat. As you go up in level, climb on the position and you will unlock new options. Unlike other games, in Stormfall: Rise of Balur you will be in constant contact with other players in the world, and you can forge alliances to fight and conquer new places.

The game has a mechanical quite similar to Game of War: Fire Age, although unlike it, especially in the graphics, because the game has been adapted from Facebook to mobile and graphics are in high definition, so the gameplay is pretty good. In addition, it is available in several languages, including Spanish and English (dubbed, not only written), and every day you play you can get premium items for accelerating the construction or recruitment of troops.

Among the soldiers who can be recruited to build your army there are barbarians, paladins, umbrian, dragons and magicians, but there are many more types of troops which form your own fleet, you can send them to fight other players in PvP server.

Highly addictive, Stormfall: Rise of Balur is a mixture of the original game created for Facebook and Game of War, but improving the graphics and gameplay aspects. It is a good adaptation of the game for Android, although clear differences are serious and would be interesting to connect accounts both smarphone/tablet and PC. If you are looking for a fun game to play, do not hesitate to keep an eye on Stormfall: Rise of Balur, available on the App Store.
